December 2018 Topic
Habits are part of every day. You probably even don’t even notice that they happen. For example, you are just in the habit of brushing your teeth with either your right or left hand. Or you follow a chosen route to drive to DHAC. But what happens if you try to brush your teeth with your opposite hand? Or you change your driving route between home/work and DHAC?
It takes more thought and concentration to make it happen. And then you may fall back into what has been most comfortable after a few days.
The attendees considered how existing habits – or lack of – impacted their health. They reviewed the six main areas of focus to make improvements to their health.
They also learned how the combination of motivation, ability, and prompts are involved in successfully changing a habit and sticking to it and shared some of the healthy habits they have been able to keep over the years and discussed why they need to be the one directing the change but how support can be helpful in being successful.
