DHAC & C2 BeatBarre: Better Together
Fitness trends come and go, but Barre workouts – which combine ballet barre, strength training and stretching – seem to be here to stay. All types of barre workouts vary, but C2 BeatBarre is Pilates-based barre and we intentionally design our routines to keep you core-focused and stable. BeatBarre provides you with a music-inspired, butt-kicking, muscle-sculpting, energizing workout that will keep you coming back for more! Our instructors keep their routines around long enough to give clients time to learn and enjoy the choreographies while changing them frequently enough to keep the energy and music fresh. With 50 minutes of intense work, a BeatBarre class will work you from head to toe while keeping to our Pilates roots. BeatBarre incorporates functional core work and lengthening movements within the workout itself, not just at the end of the class. The result: better posture, enhanced flexibility and strength, stronger bones and muscles from functional weight bearing movements and of course, better energy from a FUN and effective workout set to amazing music!
Hard on Muscles | Kind on Joints
With the BeatBarre method, we use repetition awareness. We have this little motto: “hard on muscles, kind on joints.” We try to keep you in your muscles. We want to stay out of the joints, ligaments and tendons. We don’t want to stress those. We do want to stress and tackle the muscles, we want the muscles to change. In repetition awareness, we’re being very aware of how long we are doing a particular movement for. We take you slightly into that shake zone, and then move you out of it and flush out the muscle. We want to make sure we don’t fatigue the muscle so much that we’re starting to get into the structure – which compromises the stability of the joints.
With barre, we’re talking about isolations. We’re talking about engaging all the muscles, we’re talking about a cardio element and working at a fat burning rate. We take the heart rate just to that point where you’re maximizing fat burn – so it’s more anaerobic than aerobic like spinning or running on a treadmill. This is for people who want to burn fat, tone muscles, lean out and sculpt.
