Meet the PT Staff!
Margie Lamir-Heger, PT
Margie Lamir-Heger, PT, is the managing partner of Physical Therapy at Dedham Health & Athletic Complex. Founded in 1992, she has progressively expanded the practice to include 16 highly skilled therapists in three departments within the enormous health club. This consists of Sports/orthopedics, Back To Life Spine care, and Aquatic Rehabilitation. A graduate of Northeastern University, she has over 20 years of experience in treating patients with sports and orthopedic injuries and conditions as well as head, neck and facial pain syndromes. Her certifications in Yoga, weight training, Pilates, and TRX allow her to create challenging, yet safe, customized exercise programs. Through a variety of speaking engagements and collaborations, she works closely with many of the highest respected surgeons in New England, developing rehab protocols that are implemented by her staff.
Margie also sits on the board of trustees for Boston Biomedical Research Institute, an institute dedicated to conducting vital research in neuromuscular and neurodegenerative diseases, She is co-founder and President of the Zack Heger Foundation for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a non- profit established to raise awareness and fund research for DMD through its alliance with the Duchenne Alliance.
Stephen Minard, MS, PT
Stephen is the lead clinician of the Back to Life Physical Therapy Center. He received his Masters degree in Physical Therapy from Simmons College and worked in private practice before joining DRAC PT in 2000. He has evaluated and treated thousands of patients with a variety of conditions related to neck and back pain. He has close working relationship with many doctors in the area and truly enjoys helping people get better. Steve has ties to the community having grown up, gone to school and continues to work and live in Dedham. He enjoys working out and spending quality time with his wife and 2 boys.
Stephanie Schwartz, PT, CSCS
Stephanie Schwartz earned her degree in Exercise Science at Umass-Amherst. She then went on to graduate from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia with her Master’s in Physical Therapy. She has been with Physical Therapy at Dedham Health and Athletic Complex since 2000 and is now PT manager.
Stephanie is trained in many hands-on manual techniques including 5 levels of Maitland Joint Mobilization, Myofascial Release, Strain-Counterstrain, Hersh Method for SI dysfunction and Cranial Sacral techniques. Stephanie is also a certified Pilates instructor, a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and currently teaches yoga. She is certified in Functional Movement Screens (FMS) and Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) and uses this background in her evaluation and treatment plans.
