“Put Your Best Fork Forward”
National Nutrition month is celebrated every year in the month of March. This year’s theme is “Put Your Best Fork Forward,” which I would interpret as: you don’t need to change every single thing all at once. It’s all the little changes that can make a big difference in your overall diet and health.
Here are 3 tips to get you heading in the right direction with regard to healthy eating:
- Grill, broil or bake an extra portion of dinner to bring to work for lunch the next day. Put it in a plastic container and throw in a piece of fruit and some raw veggies, and you are good to go the next work day.
- Eat from a bowl or plate – not a box or bag. This makes it much easier to control portions. Check the serving size on the label to see how much you can have for a serving.
- Put down your cell phone, IPAD, or laptop. Pay attention to how your food tastes, smells and feels in your mouth. Savor it!! You just can’t multi task while eating!
