Always keep a gym bag packed in your car
One of the easiest excuses for skipping the gym is not having workout clothes with you. If you have an extra set of clothes with you at all times there is no reason that you shouldn’t be able to hit the gym on the way home from work! Keeping a healthy snack like almonds or a granola bar in your bag is also a good idea to avoid a fast food pit stop.
Create a workout plan
If you fail to plan, you can plan to fail. Having a set workout plan will not only allow you to track your progress but it makes going to the gym a mindless activity. Having your routine planned out according to your fitness goals is the best way to get the most out of your workout!
Plan out the days you will be going to the gym each week
Block off time in your schedule each week for the gym just like you would for an important meeting or a test for school. Writing down your goals for the week will hold you more accountable.
Don’t be a perfectionist!
Everyone is busy and sometimes life just gets in the way. There may be some weeks that you skip a day at the gym or that you get take out because you didn’t have enough time to make dinner. When these things happen the most important thing to do is not get discouraged! Don’t give up on your goal because of one bad day.
