Even though they are refreshing, they add to unnecessary calories and make you gain those unwanted pounds. Try making your own fruit and veggie infused water. All you need to do is cut up some fruits and veggies and throw them in your to-go water bottle, or if you’re hosting a cookout; grab a punch bowl and add ice. Let it sit for at least 1 hour before enjoying so that the flavors seep in.
Drinking infused water became a staple in my life about 7 or 8 years ago, when I barely drank any water because I hated the taste of water. In the beginning I just drank water with lemon to forget about the fact that I was actually drinking water.
Years later, I found out that adding water actually helps balance out the PH in your body. I started sticking other fruits in it like strawberries and pineapple; and fell in love with it. Adding mint can help keep your mouth nice and fresh also. I started to stray away from crystal light water enhancers because of all the unnatural chemicals that were added to them. Infused water can also help you get a natural source of electrolytes instead of reaching for a Gatorade or Powerade, which just adds to unwanted sugars. I don’t drink it every day, but when I do; I pop fruit into my 64oz jug and drink it all day.
