Hi, my name is Francesco Tartaglia, I am a fourth year Communications student at Francesco Northeastern University, and I’m currently on my second co-op. I was hired here at Dedham Health and Athletic Complex as a Video Production employee as they work to produce more commercials, videos, and tons more. But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let me tell you a little bit about me.
I’m a Massachusetts native, and I grew up in Revere, MA. If you have any questions aboutKelly’s Roast Beef or Revere Beach, I’m your guy (because that’s all we really got, oh yea, and a movie theatre which is pretty sweet)! In 2010 I was accepted to Northeastern Univeristy and have loved it ever since. My first co-op was with channel 5 WCVB as a news intern. When that was finished I was given the opprotonity to stay with them as a part time news writer. In July, I was hired, along with two other Northeastern Co-ops, by Dedham Health and Athletic Complex for my second co-op and I am currently employed here as I write this!
We’ve done a lot of cool things around DHAC in the few months we’ve been around. If you come here often you’ve probably even seen me walking around with a camera on my shoulder or carrying big oddly shaped lights. It’s a big endeavor but I’m really excited to get started and produce some great stuff. We actually already have some commercials in the making and have been taking a bunch of new photos to go along with the the new DHAC web site so be on the look out for those!
In the weeks and months to come not only will we be shooting web videos and commercials but we’ll actually be putting on a “Dr. Oz” type live talk show completely focused on Type 2 diabetes. The health club has gone above and beyond to prepare for this endeavor and the equipment is top of the line. It’s a broke film student’s dream come true! Not only does the great opportunity excite, me it is a subject that is very close to me. In my family my father has type 2 diabetes and my brother has type1, so it is all VERY real for me. With this show we will be helping those who struggle with this disease better combat it. Maybe I can even get my Dad to watch (I hope you’re reading this Dad!)
So that’s a little about myself and the work we’ll be doing around DHAC. If you’d like to be on camera and maybe even star in one of our commercial spots….we may just have a slot open for you! Hope to see you in front of my camera!
