Kids learn how to swim once they reach a certain comfort level in the water. You can’t teach comfort; it comes from exposure. Taking your kids for a fun family swim night, or enrolling your children into swim lessons are two great ways a parent can safeguard their children. As a swim Instructor for over 15yrs I’ve found that when parents swim recreationally with their children they are amazed at how many skills their kids have gained even after just a few swim sessions. CPSC reports that an average of 390 children die annually in pool and spa drownings. The more you expose your children to swimming, be it a structured lesson or recreational family play, the more their comfort and skill levels will increased. I look forward to seeing you, and your family in the pool!
