I have always struggled with the concept of having to find a “purpose” in life. Like any young boy, I dreamt of becoming a professional athlete and playing the sport I love in front of thousands of fans. Now that adulthood has set in and my dream of playing professional baseball is not a reality, I constantly think “What am I going to do now that I didn’t make it to stardom?”
I am entering my 6th year at Dedham Health and I have realized that I have been building my “purpose” here the entire time. I have a very unhealthy family. Working at DHAC has educated and provided me with the knowledge and training to better my lifestyle and has given me the tools to help others do the same.
I have had the opportunity to speak from experience to my family about healthy living options and have a greater level of credibility with DHAC as my professional home.
My mother is a recent breast cancer survivor. She now exercises in her everyday life and loves it. My father has gone through the 60/60 program and is making his way to changing his lifestyle permanently!
I have many other family members to help and I am thankful I have the resources to help them. I have found a meaningful “purpose”.
